A bit about Daniel H

Hi, my name's Dan. I currently teach English to Key Stage 3 and 4 nurture group classes, (ages 11-16), in a state school in Kingsbury, London. Along with this, I have a packed schedule, tutoring English Language, Literature, Drama and Public Speaking. Before teaching, I spent over two decades as an actor, with leading roles in London West End Theatre shows, TV, Film and Radio, winning awards for my performances on BBC Radio 4. The reason I mention my acting experience is that it gives me an in-depth understanding of many of the texts on the curriculum, along with a genuine passion for language and textual analysis. I adore my work with children and I finish most of my online sessions with a big smile on my face, as I really feel it is my calling to improve young lives and empower young people's prospects of success. I tutor children of all ages, including Primary, Lower and Middle High School, Senior High School, Entrance Exams, University. My lessons are a combination of creative/persuasive/journalistic writing exercises, textual analysis of texts from the curriculum, essay and public speaking technique and as many reading-out-loud, confidence building exercises as possible! My experience teaching public speaking all around the world to both students and major corporations such as Vodaphone and EE means I can really help when it comes to tutoring Public Speaking modules, so with the current curriculum as it is, I am of great assistance to English students.
