A bit about Clifford S

I graduated with a 1st class MSci Mathematics with Theoretical Physics degree from University College London in 2002 and subsequently completed a PhD in Fluid Mechanics at Imperial College London in 2006. I started tutoring GCSE Mathematics in January 2017 as a volunteer with the charity Action Tutoring. Since then I have tutored at several schools across London and more recently online. I continue to volunteer with Action Tutoring in 2021. I like explaining mathematical concepts to students and seeing improvements in their understanding and ability to answer questions. If there was a previous tutoring session, then a quick recap of what was learnt in that session. The new session may build on the topic in the previous session or be a new topic. I go through simple examples at first to help the student understand the concepts and identify any weaknesses. Only then are more complicated exam-style questions looked at.
