You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
Hi there! I am a qualified science teacher with over six years of teaching experience. I completed my PGCE from the University of Cambridge in 2019. I currently work as a maths and science teacher at an outstanding state school.
I started tutoring in 2016. Over time I have prepared students for all exam boards, including Cambridge International Examinations.
My approach is relatively simple. While I am teaching, my focus is to ensure that students understand core knowledge. To make core knowledge more meaningful and understandable, I always relate it to daily life examples. This way, students develop an interest in learning and can make more connections with their existing knowledge. This approach helps them recall information without any difficulty. Upon completion of the topic, my students work on carefully selected past paper questions under my guidance. This opportunity allows them to consolidate their learning. Finally, they complete an end of topic test (students complete the test as homework and submit it through email). The test is marked and detailed feedback is provided. This feedback allows students to understand and note their mistakes; hence the feedback moves their learning forward. Another important aspect of my teaching is that I guide my students to connect different topics on the specification effectively. Over time, students learn this skill which allows them to become lifelong independent learners.
I love travelling and meeting people from different countries. I have been to South Korea, Malta, Holland, Belgium and Germany.
