A bit about Ellen Z

I am a qualified teacher with over 25 years of teaching in inner London Schools. My experience includes being an Assistant Headteacher, English as an Additional Language teacher and Special Educational Needs teacher. I have been tutoring part time for the past 5years. I am passionate about reading and supporting children who are struggling to reach their highest potential. I believe that every child matters and that I should do my level best equip them with the skills, knowledge and confidence to become a productive and competent citizen in a challenging and diverse world. . Phonics, Reading, and Maths . Special Educational Needs . English as an Additional Language My favourite thing about tutoring is getting to build positive relationships and knowing the student’s learning style ensuring readiness to learn. I enjoy working and tailoring my plans to that specific student’s needs therefore I can cover a lot of content compared to the child being in a full class. My greatest satisfaction is when I see the student transition from a budding plant into a beautiful flower; for me, that’s the power of tutoring.
