A bit about Kimiya S

I’m currently studying Dentistry in London and have a previous degree in Biomedical science. I love learning myself and have been tutoring for a few years, helping my students fall in love with their subject is important for me as I believe it helps them understand concepts more. I aim to build their confidence and get them exam ready. GCSE Biology and chemistry UCAS Dentistry prep (personal statement and interview) It’s all about first impressions, getting to know the student is vital as it helps me understand their method of learning so I can cater lessons to their ability. I ask my students to be extremely active in lessons as it shows that they understand, for example, I ask my students to teach back and I always incorporate questions throughout the session. I first started tutoring when I doing my A-levels, 4 years ago, where I tutored lower years at my grammar school in biology, chemistry and maths. Since then I have tutored with many tuition companies and also privately. I have always been fascinated with science, I believe it’s one of the most important subjects, because science is all around us and is always happening. It offers a deeper understanding of concepts we take for granted. It’s simply thrilling. My lessons are always planned according to how the student learns best, I always encourage my students to be very vocal throughout the session because that helps them learn more. Asking questions, teaching concepts back to me and answering exam questions are essential in my lessons. Helping students become their most confident self and helping them achieve their highest potential. Seeing students succeed fuels my desire to be a tutor. My students love how our lessons involve open discussions, they enjoy being an active participant as I always involve them to ensure they are listening. They also love the fact that I always test them and also provide them with the materials I use in the lesson as they find my notes very helpful. Watching my students become more and more confident every session and most importantly seeing them achieve even higher grades than their predictions from school. I have studied A-level chemistry and Biology and achieved grades B and A respectively. In GCSE I achieved A and A*. I also studied biomedical science before starting dentistry where I received the highest 2:1 grade. I once had an A-level chemistry tutor myself, before starting lessons with him I hated chemistry and had very low confidence in the subject. He really inspired me and encouraged me to become so confident that I started teaching other students at school. He not only raised my grade to the point where I was achieving the highest in my year but also helped me fall in love with chemistry. I now consider it to be my favourite science. I love travelling and learning new things about different cultures. I also love swimming and animals. I can teach any exam board for GCSE chemistry and biology Act as a mentor, guiding students in the subject and providing a safe environment for students to enhance and practice their knowledge.
