Experienced, knowledgeable, friendly support in science and maths
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I have over 15 years experience as a teacher and tutor of Chemistry, Biology and Physics at A Level and GCSE in various secondary schools and as a private tutor. Presently I am tutoring online, finding this to be an ideal platform that suits both my student’s way of learning and aids my teaching approach by offering the interactive whiteboard and the ability to easily exchange subject and practice material. I am familiar with all the main exam boards in England and Wales. For example, WJEC, Eduqas, AQA, Edexcel, OCR. Before teaching, my career as a research chemist at university and in companies has given me a rich experience of the application and practice of science to real problems. This experience I can now pass on to the benefit of my students.
Seeing my student progressing and taking an interest in the subject and getting satisfaction from when they achieve exam success. I don’t just thoroughly explain the topic, I also guide them through the mathematical and chemical calculations that are required at GCSE and A Level, and which are assessed in external exams. I am pleased to see my students showing the feeling of exhilaration and confidence when they understand the work clearly and can successfully apply it to solving problems.
I fully cover the National Curriculum requirements at KS3 and KS4 in Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Maths. I believe in supporting students in their learning, understanding and application of the Sciences and Mathematics. various secondary schools and private tutoring. I have a friendly approach and explain topics clearly, giving the information required by the syllabus. My students achieve great success in gaining or exceeding their target grades, allowing them to confidently proceed onto their next stage in education or go forward in their chosen careers. My lessons are individually planned having agreed the topic to study with my students beforehand. In planning my lessons, I work through the problems and calculations myself, to ensure there will be time to cover the work, and to highlight any likely difficulties that might appear and need special attention.
