A bit about Sally

My name is Sally and I have been an English and Humanities tutor for just over two years. Currently, I am part of the Government's 'NTP (National Tuition Programme)', where I work with schools across Merseyside, where I give in-person tuition lessons for KS3-5. My specialism is in Modern History and Politics. Currently I am studying an MA in Cultural History, whilst teaching KS3-5 History and English. I am passionate about making tuition lessons personable and building a rapport with my students is at the core of my practice. My lessons involve retrieval practice and following a scheme of work to really build on skills. By having an 'Do Now' task to start with, followed by a 'starter activity', then a 'main activity', I really consolidate skills with my students. Connecting the end of lesson to the start of the following lesson is core to retrieval practice. My teaching philosophy is that we all have strengths in different areas and all of us have areas to work on.
