I use up to date research and studies to ensure I’m providing the most effective lessons that will allow my pupils to engage, remember and enjoy my lessons. I love to apply difficult concepts to everyday situations or events that make understanding easier for the student. I always try to include humour as I have found this increases the amount of information a student can retain. I like to start out with exam questions to get an idea of where the student is working at and what areas need some support before progressing on. I use a spaced repetition philosophy allowing more retention then teaching a topic and not re-covering it. I hand tailor all my my lessons to the students specific needs and try to make sure what I am providing is the most effective for that student.
I started tutoring after becoming interested in the science and psychology behind how someone learns something. In doing so I realised how ineffective a lot of pupils work and revision was including my own when I was younger. I decided to start tutoring GCSE and A-Level sciences 3 years ago and have loved every minute helping students to realise their potential.
Hello, my name is Annabel and I am a second year dentistry student, with 3 years of tutoring experience. I received A*AA in my A-Levels and am currently helping students especially with KS3, GCSE and A-level sciences. At university I am a widening participation ambassador and I mentor lots of young people through their academics in order to get onto courses such as medicine and dentistry.
Currently I tutor students ranging from year 5 all the way up to the second year of college. I have experience will most exam boards including WJEC and EDUCAS. I have contacts to examiners and provide most of my tutoring based around the specific specifications for your course.
I absolutely love the sciences and hope to share my passion with others. Sometimes it's so easy to get caught up in the grades especially if applying to University, and taking a step back from this to see how interesting the content is can allow you to understand a lot more and really boost your grades. I really enjoy seeing students finding the passion for these subjects and achieving their potential
