I’m a fully qualified and experienced teacher and current Curriculum Lead for Mathematics, with five years of experience as Head of Maths. I specialise in KS3 and GCSE Maths (AQA and Edexcel), teaching both the foundation and higher tiers, consistently challenging the most able students to achieve grade 9s by tackling complex problems. One of my key strengths is preparing students for examinations, and I excel at helping struggling learners to progress from failing grades to securing crucial solid passes. Over the years, my students have consistently achieved strong academic results, and I take great pride in helping learners unlock their potential and build confidence in Maths. Mathematics has always been a subject I love, particularly the problem-solving element. For me, Maths is all about breaking down complex ideas into simple, understandable steps. I believe that everyone can enjoy and succeed in Maths if it’s explained in the right way. That’s why I always make sure to teach in a clear and relatable manner, helping my learners grasp concepts in the way I do. I’ve loved teaching ever since I was 15, when I did work experience at the primary school I attended. From a young age, I realised I had a natural ability to explain things in a way that made sense to people, especially when others couldn’t. This passion for helping others understand difficult concepts has stayed with me throughout my career. Outside of teaching, I’m a family man who enjoys staying active. I love sports and spend my weekends coaching a local football team for children my son’s age (under 7s). I believe that building strong relationships and creating a supportive environment—whether in the classroom or on the football pitch—is key to helping young people grow and succeed.
