I am a fully qualified English teacher with over 10 years of experience teaching students across KS3, KS4, and KS5. Most recently, I was Head of English in a West London secondary school, supporting students to achieve results in their GCSE and IB examinations that exceeded national and international averages. I am an encouraging, reflective, and adaptable tutor who takes a student-centred approach to tutoring, ensuring that each session is tailored to the specific needs, interests, and abilities of the young person I am working with. I pride myself on ensuring that the sessions I deliver stretch students to reach their full potential, whilst at the same time being accessible and enjoyable, fostering a life-long love for learning. My experience of working with young people of all abilities and with a range of different needs, including students with SEND and those who speak English as an additional language, means I am able to draw on a range of different teaching strategies and styles to ensure students are able to get the most out of each session. I tutor English to students across KS3-KS5, and am experienced in supporting students to prepare for their GCSE, A-Level and IB examinations. I also tutor students preparing for their 11+ exams with a focus on the English and verbal reasoning components of these examinations. As well as working as a tutor, I am also a freelance workshop facilitator for an educational charity and an examiner for Edexcel.
