A bit about Michael F

MATHS , I have taught in various schools and colleges in the yorkshire area, teaching year 7 to 11 and mature learners. I am familiar with AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards for GCSE. In addition I have taught functional skills and entry level curriculum classes. This work is all about teaching what you need to know, sometimes its this weeks school topic, revision for exams, homework help, often led by you the tutee. Being an examiner in later years its all about exam technique and protocols to get every mark on each question. I am very patient with tutees, I need to understand your skills before we can progress and improve your abilities and confidence with maths. My experience will allow me to gently coach and develop your talents, being in a small group we can give you more teaching time to overcome the things you don't know yet. I am a qualified maths teacher, with lots of years experience, and for the last 12 years I have been an examiner for a major uk exam board. So can advise on exam techniques and where the marks are gained and lost I am experienced with AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards, and my teaching in secondary school was with years 7 to 11. Lessons are directed by you, parents or from school tests/assessments. We will start with a warm up to get the numbers working and then do some theory or examples from me on todays topic. I will talk to you and discuss how you feel about the tasks, and then when ready you will do some, then we can either do practice questions or I can slowly make it more difficult and target exam style / levels of questions.
