A bit about Elizabeth V

I recently graduated from the University of St. Andrews with first-class honors and am about to begin my postgraduate study at the University of Cambridge. I have over 4 years of experience teaching both in the UK and abroad, virtually and in person, primarily focused on general primary education and English 11Plus, GCSE and EFL. I have a proven track record of improving the grades of my students by at least 2 bands or helping them get into their top school of choice. I believe that success is completely relative based on the student and their achievements however 2 instances in particular stand out for me. Firstly, a GCSE student I took on in September 2018 who was averaging a grade 6 in English. I worked with her consistently until her exams in summer 2019, using a whole host of different techniques and doing every past paper question under the sun. I was absolutely ecstatic for her (although not surprised!) when she achieved all grade 9's in her English papers on results day. The second instance which comes to mind is a ESL student, an adult learner working in HR. I worked with her twice a week on business English and colloquial speech and still remember when she came to class and told me (so proudly) that she had used the word 'ajar' correctly in conversation that day. Small victories still count for a lot! I teach from reception up to year 6 in general primary education, although I do specialize in English. I am also very familiar with ElevenPlus preparation and have a strong record of helping students get into their schools of choice. I also teach English from year 7 up to GCSE. Here I am very familiar with most GCSE exam boards as well as the national curriculum requirements for each year group.
