Cambridge graduate enthusiastic about teaching science & maths
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
Hi everyone, I'm Will and I graduated from Cambridge University with a first class masters degree in Chemical Engineering via Natural Sciences (MEng) in July 2020. From a comprehensive school, I achieved 4A*s at A-level in chemistry, physics, maths and further maths and an A in biology at AS-level. In addition, I have 10A*s and an A at GCSE. I would be keen to tutor all three science subjects and maths at GSCE level. In addition, physics, chemistry and maths at A-level.
I believe the best approach is to try to understand the subject, which makes it much easier to learn the facts that are needed to do well in the exams. Helping the student to enjoy their subject is really important to me and the results will come as a by-product of this. In terms of the lesson structure, I like to plan the lessons ahead of time and read around the subject to decide the best way to explain the concepts. Therefore, an outline of the topics which the tutee would like to focus on would be helpful to get the most out of the lessons. I have found from experience that past paper questions are great to do and can help in the understanding of the content.
In terms of my experience, I currently tutor maths and science to eight students over online platforms and have achieved great results. In addition, I worked at Kumon Maths, a tutoring company, teaching maths to children from the ages of 5-15.
Will has been a great tutor to my son during his school lock down. He has helped him with GCSE Chemistry and it has made a massive difference. He is kind and patient and very thorough.
Will is a very organised tutor, excellent communication and lesson notes are immediately available after each session. He explains clearly and thoroughly. I recommend him very much.
