Oxford University History Graduate tutoring History
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I'm a History graduate from Oxford University. Across my degree, I covered a range of periods including modern, early modern and medieval history. During my A Levels, I also studied the Tudors, the Crusades and the American Revolution. I have plenty of experience tutoring History at all levels. I've taught History to a KS1 group, helped international students with Oxbridge applications, and worked with numerous A Level and GCSE students. This has allowed me to cover a range of exam boards and modules, including AQA, OCR & Edexcel.
My classes are always varied and engaging based entirely on what you want to cover. Before each lesson I will contact you about what you wish to focus on this session. You provide me with a rough topic and from that I will build a class that focuses on both the content of the topic and then its application through a relevant essay plan or source-work based exercise. After each session I will provide you with an in-depth revision pack based on everything we have covered across the class. We will work as a team to identify what exactly we need to improve and how best to do it. I take an active interest in all your schoolwork, and will always check over your feedback from teachers.
The most important and popular aspect of my teaching style is the comfortable environment I create. I believe it is crucial that the student feels able to ask questions at all times and speak freely about their concerns. My students understand that each lesson is tailored entirely to their needs and thus our class dynamic is based on communication and collaboration. As a team this ensures we maximise productivity, and that after each session the student feels more confident in their ability.
