Tell us a bit about yourself.

I have been a classroom teacher for over 40 years and during that time often did one-to-one tuition. During the pandemic when classes were isolating I did some online lessons as well. I enjoy teaching and getting ideas across. I feel I have gained a lot of experience by working in different schools . Consequently I feel I can help people learn. I strive to encourage students of all abilities and levels and adapt to their needs so that they do their best.

What do you specialise in?

GCSE Physics and A level Physics have always been my main subjects. Also because of the Maths involved in Physics I feel I can teach GCSE Maths as well. In addition I have taught Biology and Chemistry as part of schools' GCSE Science Courses.

How do your lessons usually plan out?

I feel the main idea obviously has to be introduced and a realistic time spent on the concepts. Then a lot of time should be spent reinforcing the understanding through answering questions for both theoretical and numerical topics. After getting to know the student I would need to develop the mechanism to ensure progress during a lesson.

When did you first start tutoring?

I did a lot of tutoring starting from about 1990. I have had experience of online teaching recently during my job as a classroom teacher. This has been when my class is off isolating or I was covering a teacher isolating.
