A bit about Dominic M

I have been a lecturer at an FE College for 10 years and have experience teaching students at level 1 through to level 4. I am currently course leader for the Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Nursing and the Level 4 HNC in Sport and Exercise Sciences. I have experience working in numerous industries, including personal training, pharmaceutical sales, and health physiology. I first started tutoring, as part of my role at the College, back in 2010. This involved working with students on a 1-2-1 basis, helping them to achieve their goals by tailoring the support to their individual needs. I now have extensive experience in supporting students through the process of researching and writing assignments - both through my work as a lecturer and my own academic pursuits. My area of expertise is human anatomy and physiology, and its application to both exercise and pathology. I have two masters degrees - an MSc in Exercise Physiology and an MRes in Sport, Health and Applied Science. My approach to teaching is to tailor my delivery to the individual needs of the learner. This involves the use of visual, auditory and kinesthetic methods of delivery. Lessons are based around the use of diagrams and videos to illustrate important concepts and principles, alongside directed questioning and discussion. This actively engages the learner with the topic, encouraging them to problem-solve and reach conclusions for themselves. My focus is on developing both their enjoyment of, and confidence in, the subject matter.
