A bit about Andy M

My name is Andy and I was born in Manchester, UK. After graduating from a University in 2010 with a 1st Class BSc in Mathematics, I have gained experienced in a range of teaching roles both in school, face to face and online. My goal is always to offer clear and focused lessons which inspire confidence in each and every student. Whether your child is struggling in class or merely wishes to achieve a higher grade, I believe everyone deserves an equal chance to progress and understand the subject with the help of a calm and patient teacher. 1-2-1 lessons online for Mathematics (KS3 and GCSE), as well as English (TEFL) to adults. I am accustomed to and have experience with all three major board for Mathematics in the UK - AQA, EDEXCEL & OCR. Lessons are usually 1 hour long and planned according to the student’s needs. I aim to use engaging and relevant examples related to the students own interests and hobbies in order to maximise retention of what has been taught. Past papers are also used extensively to maximise the students experience and knowledge of exam style questions. Homework is given provided the student and parent/guardian are happy with this. 2017 The best feeling I get from tutoring Maths is knowing that I have made a difference to students who were previously struggling with the subject and were perhaps not getting the dedicated time they needed from the teacher in school. Every student learns at a different speed and this is not always accommodated easily in a classroom environment. It's therefore a pleasure to provide this in 1-2-1 sessions. I strive to make mathematics understandable through clear and patient explanation, focusing on the practicality of the subject and adding a healthy dose of humour along the way!
