A bit about Melissa B

I have a first-class degree in French and Spanish and am available for KS3 and KS4/GCSE tuition. I am patient and kind and have several years of experience working with teenagers whilst tutoring and working in learning support departments and language departments in secondary schools usually on a 1:1 basis. This experience has made me aware of how important it is to really listen to the pupil to find out what their challenges are and then give them tailored support and guidance to increase their confidence and ability. I believe in noticing and praising all progress. During my tuition, I have successfully helped pupils increase their understanding of the languages, get to grips with grammar, improve their grades and increase their confidence. I am half French, have my own teenagers, and I have spent many holidays in France. I have also lived and studied in France for 2 years and have studied in Spain. I have tutored French and Spanish to primary school-aged children as well KS3 and KS4 with impactful results and my focus now is on KS3 and KS4. I have worked with teenagers for several years in secondary schools Learning Support departments and have worked in the languages departments. I keep up to date with the curriculum and requirements from exam boards. I have my own teenagers therefore I have an understanding of this age group. I am half French and have spend many holidays in France visiting family and visiting new places as well as spending one and half years an au pair in France during my youth. During my degree I spent a semester living in France and another semester. French and Spanish KS3 and KS4, years 7-11. My lessons plan out as I plan them too usually. However, I am flexible and adapt to what the pupil needs and work at his/her pace. If I need to spend more time explaining something I will and am very happy to do so! 2009
