A bit about Abidah H

I am a qualified science teacher who has been tutoring for the last 10 years and I have taught in both state and independent schools for the previous 10 years. My last long term post was Head of Science for a small independent school in London. I also have experience of marking GCSE science papers. I specialise in Biology to A level and Chemistry to GCSE level. I will adapt lessons to best suit the student and I teach study skills as well as filling in the gaps in your knowledge and understanding. Exam technique is a mandatory part of my lessons. I usually ask the students how they study best and incorporate that into the planning of my lesson. I will always break up the lesson with a variety of activities ranging from question and answers, to match keywords with definitions, label diagrams, past paper questions and short quizzes to test their knowledge and understanding. I first started tutoring in 2002, my second year as a qualified teacher. I only took one student on whilst I was working full time but from 2011 I set up as a professional tutor and started to grow my tuition business from there, helping students with GCSEs, A-levels, 11 plus preparation as well as National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Biology.
