A bit about Marina S

Lessons will start with a review of prior knowledge, either from the previous lesson or topic. Moving towards the new content and then some exam practice to finish. Chemistry GCSE, particularly AQA. I teach the full syllabus and examine Paper 2 for the Trilogy and Chemistry GCSE courses. I have tutored in various formats for 3 years working with students both face to face and online. I work in the North West in an academy school with an excellent reputation in the local area. I enjoy spending time in the Lake District and being outdoors. I believe Chemistry is an enthralling subject that applies to so many aspects of life, to see how many of us can use this to develop ideas and careers is really passionate to me. And of course the practical aspect is really about problem solving and developing resilience and independence, these skills can be applied to a variety of future roles. My teaching style develops with the student. I think it is important to work with the student to allow them to work on their subject. I use an open start, with a clear objective to bring depth to the topic. I use questioning, videos, worked examples and exam questions to support the learning. I have worked for AQA for several years covering both the GCSE and iGCSE syllabus. I find that working as an examiner gives me a greater depth of detail in being able to teach students the keywords that will ensure that they are more likely to achieve higher grades.
