A bit about Tim C

I have an overwhelming passion for Mathematics and love to see my students progress and learn more about this wonderful subject. I am a fully qualified Secondary Mathematics Teacher with years of experience tutoring, I am very technologically able and can ensure an effective learning environment when working online. I have loved Maths since I was a child, and did as much Maths as I could throughout my school years, this led to my taking both Maths and Further Maths at A-Level, before going on to study Maths at degree level at Newcastle University. After this I then went on to complete my Teacher Training and gained a PGCE in Secondary Mathematics as well as QTS (Qualified Teacher Status). I think that the thing I love most about teaching Maths is watching a student change from someone who does not like the subject to someone who loves it. And of course witnessing that "Eureka!" moment when a student understands a concept that had been eluding their understanding for so long is something that I think all teachers would agree brings them great joy. I am very familiar with all major UK exam boards including AQA, Edexcel and OCR. I am comfortable teaching all years from 7 to 13. I first started tutoring during my time studying Maths at university, I found this a great way to share skills about the subject I love while making some money as a broke university student! From here I fell in love with teaching and decided to pursue it after leaving university, where I went on to do my Secondary Teacher Training. I specialise in solely Mathematics, and am able to teach all secondary years, including A-Level. I have spent a lot of time perfecting my online teaching methods and believe I can provide an experience that rivals face-to-face teaching, and in my opinion can surpass traditional teaching. I aim to be understanding with my students and always make them feel comfortable, yet challenged during my lessons. I always cater my lessons to each individual student's needs, this results in either student led lessons, where students will bring work for us to work through, or teacher led lessons where students can pick a topic and I will structure full lessons based on this. All my lessons will make use of an online whiteboard to provide an engaging experience.
