A bit about Lindsey P

I am an experienced Teacher of students across ks2, ks3 and ks4, from different backgrounds, working at different levels. I also have experience of teaching English as an additional language and extensive experience teaching young people with SEN. I have taught over the last 10 years in a mainstream setting, independent schools and alternative provision. I regularly teach small groups and 1-1 sessions so I can tailor lessons to the learning styles and development areas of the young people I teach. I specialise in English, including phonics, Maths, PSHE and Citizenship. I am experienced in preparing young people for Year 6 SATs and the transition to secondary and progress across KS3. My lessons are tailored to your interests and development areas and cover a mixture of learning styles in order to progress reading, writing, speaking & listening and subject specific skills and knowledge. I have been teaching for over 10 years. and am still working as a Teacher during school hours. I enjoy seeing my students grow in confidence and develop a new found love for a subject they may have previously struggled with. Overcoming barriers to learning is one of my major strengths. Feedback from the students I teach is that my lessons are fun, informative, relevant and interesting. I am able to drill down into complex areas of Maths and English in order to devise a step by step approach to learning which young people will be able to remember, use and apply. I have a BA Hons degree in Business Management, Qualified Teacher Status, and have completed a vast number of training courses over the years I have worked as a Teacher, some of which include: Outstanding Teachers Programme, Safeguarding, Phonics, Teaching children with emotional and behavioural needs, Subject Leader CPD for Maths and English. I teach students through the whole of Primary (Year 1-6) and Secondary (Year 7 -11). I cover Year 6 SATs in Maths and English, plus KS3/4 Maths and English - Functional Skills (EdExcel/Pearson) and English GCSE (AQA).
