A bit about Giorgia B

I'm a Foreign Languages Teacher, I was born and raised in Italy but I've recently moved to the UK. I started teaching right after the university almost by chance, but I immediately realised that's what I would have loved (and I would love) to do for the rest of my life! I have 4 years of teaching experience in different Italian secondary schools. My languages of specialisation are English and German but I'm also deeply in love with my native language: Italian! Lessons are usually 1 hour long and are addressed to any type of students' level (beginner, intermediate/advanced) and age (from kids to adults). I've been tutoring since the very first year of university and never really stopped ever since! Being Italian not an easy language to learn from the beginning, what I love the most is to unveil those language secrets that seemed so cryptic at first. Then obviously to introduce new students to that beautiful and colourful language that is Italian! I don't have a standard methodology, since I strongly believe that every lesson should be adapted to the single student's personality and needs. I just try my best to make it as fun and light as possible! Being a tutor is fun and satisfactory. The students' improvement and success at the end of a teaching session are obviously source of great satisfaction, but it is the process, that is mutual sharing of knowledge, what thrills me the most. Teaching is not a one-way activity, rather a mutual creation of something that wouldn't have existed without the single participants. Students usually like to be part of an enjoyable environment, where they feel completely free to express/show strengths and weaknesses. When even just a single student is rewarded with a little improvement, success or positive thought about education, I feel successful. I graduated in Foreign Languages and Cultures and I have 4 years of teaching experiences in schools. It all began almost by chance, but the educational aspect of being a teacher, the relationship with the students, the students' complex and colourful world, their potentialities and contradictions, immediately made me realise it was my dream job. I have a strong passion for travelling, nature, arts and music in general, opera in particular. I like sharing experiences with friends and other people. I specialised in teaching teenagers and I had a 1-year experience in a school for adults, but my lessons are open to any type of students' level (beginner, intermediate/advanced) and age (from kids to adults).
