A bit about Kerry S

I am currently a teacher in adult education. I cover a wide range of subjects and am very happy with my current location. I am looking to offer Wednesday afternoons and Fridays for additional tuition. I am extremely supportive and will ensure that you enjoy your learning process with me. I have skills in many subjects. I taught functional skills Maths and English, and currently teach Business and IT. I love teaching and enjoy researching new subjects so no matter what your subject is, I can help you. My teaching style is supportive, engaging and holistic. I will do everything I can to ensure you understand the subject matter and will enjoy my lessons. I am now offering 11+ tuition and have access to both maths and English preparation papers and marking schemes. Business, maths, English, IT, photography, creative writing, and much more. I am able to support students with their structure and grammar. This goes along way when submitting assignments. Often, students loose marks because of silly mistakes. I have excellent research skills , often finding subject matter to support university students. I assisted a nurse and a biology student in getting better grades. I received structural support and instruction for dyslexia in university to support future students. This knowledge has gone along way to support my existing students. I am now self employed and my students are learning A level business, GCSE mathematics, 11+ exam preparation, health and social care and IT. With my support, they are achieving amazing results and you could too ! I find out what subject and awarding body the learner needs support in, research to find material or past papers, assess where the student needs support and focus on these areas. I have been teaching for just over a year. But with 25 years of life skills, I am confident you will pass your chosen course. My students doing well and achieving their goals. Learning new subject material. Education is essential and I feel that some students are being let down by the system. This is unfair and leaves many students underwhelmed and not gaining the qualifications they need to progress. I was that student, which is why I am so passionate about learning and development in any area. Student centred and holistic with lots of supportive planning to ensure you understand the material provided. Breaking down each unit or subject criteria and guiding you to find the correct research material. I engage in student centred learning. Finding out what works for you and planning your lessons around this. There are 3 learning styles. Visual, auditory and kinaesthetic. In your 1st free session with me, we will work together to plan your lessons and ensure you understand the subject material. I have a student who has delayed learning due to genetic issue at birth. He was given 2 years to finish his level 2 in skills for business. I have spent 12 months with him and he has managed to finish and pass this course. I am now teaching him level 3 in IT and business. His progression and enthusiasm is amazing. He had 2 tutors before me and it was a slow progression. With my support, he will go far and be able to go to university after completing the next 2 courses. I supported my own child with his learning and development. He has ADHD and Autism. My son is now an IT technician. The way I centre the learning material around the students preferences and try to link it to real life situations; so they can understand the relevance.
