A bit about Grace A

I actually can't come up with an exact time to this question because I have been in several situations in the distant past where I have informally played the role of a tutor for my younger siblings and I am currently playing the same role for my kids. However, my formal role as a tutor dates back to 2006 when I volunteered in my church to teach mathematics to High School students ahead of a new school session. I also volunteered with Every Neighborhood Partnership (Fresno, California) as a Virtual Literacy Mentor in September 2020 during the Pandemic, and I still work with them. I am an Engineer with over 10 years of work experience and I am also a Data Scientist. I am passionate about making the world a better place so, I am involved in a number of volunteering activities. I really enjoy teaching and mentoring younger ones. I believe learning is a personal journey and every individual has their preferences, struggles, personality, interest, among other qualities. Therefore, my teaching philosophy is to simplify my content as much as possible, using relevant examples, educational games and quizzes where possible. As a student, I enjoyed simplified classes that had relatable and various contents so, I am convinced that this is a good way to get students attracted to their studies and also build their ability to independently learn.
