Qualified English teacher from the UK with 20 years experience!
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
Hi there, I'm an English teacher from the UK with 20 years' teaching experience. I have taught wjec, aqa, edexcel and cambridge at both GCSE and A Level with great results. I am also an English Language GCSE Examiner so I know what it takes to succeed in exams! I love teaching both language and literature and I have a real passion for Orwell and Shakespeare. I also teach media and film. Please note my current availability is between the hours of 9-4 Monday to Friday.
I specialise in English language and literature, grammar, reading and writing skills. I teach students who are preparing for exams in English as I'm also an English language examiner. I enjoy teaching creative writing and literature study classes as well as reading comprehension and film studies. I also focus on spelling and punctuation.
My teaching style is relaxed yet purposeful. Students tend to engage well with my relaxed teaching style and I have had many positive reviews over the years from my online classes and many of my learners in schools have achieved their predicted grades or more. I always try to check in on each pupil and provide a variety of tasks to check progress.
I first started teaching way back in 2003! This was i a large comprehensive school where I taught for 11 years. Since then I have moved to a combination of online and in-school teaching and private tutoring which I really enjoy. Since September 2020 I have been teaching English exclusively online to pupils from all over the world !
