A bit about Bridie H

Hi my name is Bridie, I am an experienced Deputy Director of Science in a secondary school in Wolverhampton. From day one Science was my absolute passion, and it was down to a select few teachers that fostered my curiosity within the sciences that led me studying Science at such a high level. That is my aim as an educator to foster curiosity in my subject and bring a love for learning. I have over 6 years of experience of tutoring face to face and online. I have worked in two secondary schools across Wolverhampton for the past 7 years. I have taught GCSE Science, BTEC Applied Science, A-level Chemistry, A-level Biology and taught several different exam specifications including; AQA, Edexcel and OCR. Experienced Science teacher and tutor. Most recently responsible as a Science intervention coordinator at a OFSTED `outstanding` school in Wolverhampton. In my position as coordinator, I would highlight students in need of intervention and design and implement strategies to help students improve their confidence and attainment at school. This role has allowed me to focus and develop my own skills and approaches to ensure I get the very best out of my students. I am, a very welcoming person and believe that quickly developing a safe and open environment with trust at the very centre is key. I pride myself on getting to know every child as an individual and developing an excellent understanding of what makes them feel confident and secure in their own learning. I have been tutoring Science for 6 years. This has been face to face and through various online platforms Each of my lessons are tailored specifically to the students needs. I identify common areas of weakness, misconceptions and areas of strength and plan my lessons accordingly. I aim to ensure that all my students leave the end each lesson feeling more confident and to endeavour to make sure they feel as though they've made progression within the subject.
