A bit about Jill R

I have worked as a Head of Psychology and Head of Sixth Form in the independent sector for several years. I work with highly academic students and also those with additional learning needs such as dyslexia. I am used to working with very small groups and giving one to one support. The vast majority of my students go on to study at Russell group universities or Oxbridge, as well as international universities. I have a very detailed knowledge of the A level specification and the assessment objectives, and I tutor students in specific examination techniques as well as helping with understanding the syllabus content. I have a Onenote packed full of digital resources which includes study notes, clear and focused power points and targeted past AQA examination questions with model answers. I enjoy tailoring my lessons to individual student needs. I will work with a student to look at their individual learning needs. I enjoy making bespoke lesson plans which suit the needs of different students, and I do this in a collaborative manner. I will also set exam style questions, if a student is open to this, and assess work and share the feedback with students. My aim is to try and help every individual realise their potential with a targeted service. I have recently worked as an AQA examiner and have examined both Paper 2 and Paper 3 for Psychology. I have worked as a consultant for both Ofqual and QCA on the Psychology specifications. I have also examined AQA Sociology. I am also an examiner for WJEC Criminology I like to tailor a lesson to the individual student needs so each lesson would look different depending on the brief given to me by the student. My focus can be explaining and teaching content, sharing my power points and notes and talking them through, or it could be focusing on examination technique and going through previous papers and mark schemes, giving specific examination advice and working on the assessment objectives that the particular student needs support with. I have been teaching Psychology and Sociology A levels for several years and I have been teaching and tutoring online for three years.
