A bit about Andrew W

Chemistry and Physics. I have a deep interest in specific areas of physics; Atomic / Nuclear Physics and Relativity. It varies dependance upon the individual's existing knowledge and specific needs. On the 1st session I discover what are the student's particular areas where they feel they wish to start. In my experience on every occasion this has been the topic / subject that they are currently working on. At the end of a lesson I will set a few "challenges" or "investigations" for them to do before the next meeting. 1. An engineering degree (BEng) in Marine Technology from Newcastle University. (A combination of Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering). 2. A Post Graduate Diploma in Nuclear Reactor Technology from Surrey University. (This is a combination of Nuclear Reactor Engineering, Atomic / Nuclear Physics, Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics). 3. Senior Supervisor's Qualification on a submarine nuclear reactor plant. 4. The military equivalent of a Chief Engineering Officer's qualification for Nuclear Submarines. Link everyday experiences and observations to help in the understand the basics of more complex and often bewildering theories. This has developed over years of helping people understand the immensely complex theories of how (and why) nuclear power plants operate in conjunction with propulsion machinery and electrical power generation.
