A bit about Adam B

I am a qualified teacher currently working full-time in a secondary school. My classroom practice has been graded 'outstanding' through meticulous differentiation and knowledge of my students needs. Each session is planned with contrasting learning techniques for educational and enjoyment goals! 1. Starter Task 2. Recap from Previous Session/s (Long-Term retrieval of knowledge) 3. Introduce the Concept (I DO: WE DO: YOU DO) 4. GCSE Questions Focus 5. Educational Game Related to the Topic Teaching Philosphy: Well planned lessons that incorporate high levels of engagement, retrieval practice and student feedback. Edexcel and OCR exam boards. Year 7 through to Year 11. Foundation Paper students. The best thing is seeing an individual make progress with their Maths through sessions that are tailored to them. Watching them develop fluency and confidence within the subject makes the hard work of planning all worth while. Outside from teaching I coach for a Premier League Football Club. I compete in Triathlons and my goal is to complete an IronMan. I also enjoy spending time with family and friends. I specialise in KS3 and GCSE Foundation Maths. I have experience with OCR and Edexcel exam boards. I currently tutor a Primary School age student so have experience with the Primary curriculum. I have a great understanding and working with SEN and disadvantaged students. In my school I am the UKMT Maths Challenge lead as well as being a part of the Solent Maths Hub within my local authority. The best thing about Maths is not one lesson is ever the same. A student not fully grapsing a concept at first, but then learning and developing that concept to be confident and fluent is great to witness in lessons.
