A bit about Fiona B

I am passionate about supporting the whole child not just the academic side. I believe that a child who is happy and able to communicate their needs makes a strong learner. Qualifications: Ba (Hons) English 2.1 from the University of Exeter Primary PGCE with Qualified Teacher Status from the University of Cumbria Level 2 Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health Training: My interest in supporting mental health and understanding special needs has led to a wide range of continuous professional development. I am experienced in working with children with ASD. I like to keep things interesting! My teaching style is to introduce a topic and then embed the skill using games and activities. I use worksheets as required but if there's a game to be played then I'd much rather play it! I have been tutoring since Summer 2019, starting with one student and now working both online and in person. My experience in tutoring online meant that I could easily transition to online learning during the pandemic. In another life I'd definitely be a Countryfile presenter! I love being outdoors in nature, talking my lovely dog Finn on long walks in the park then coming home to freshly baked goods.
