A bit about Helene J

Hello, my name is Hélène. I am a French native speaker from Nantes on the west coast of France. I have now been living in England for 24 years. I qualified (Post Graduate Certificate in Education) to teach French as a foreign language here in England 10 years ago. Since then I have been teaching French in primary schools (Year 3 to 6) and secondary schools (from Year 7 up to GCSE) here in Devon. I tailor my lessons to pupils and students’ needs and specific objectives as well as tastes and learning styles. With secondary students, I can help to improve grammar, conjugation, writing skills, pronunciation, GCSE exams skills... I use games to practise and consolidate knowledge. I use text book materials as well as authentic materials from French websites and magazines. I can also provide homework to consolidate and/or further the sessions’ learning. With primary age pupils, I work with some finger rhymes, mimes/actions, poems, stories, songs and games to acquire vocabulary. I also work with phonics to help pupils develop the correct French pronunciation. I can also provide homework to consolidate vocabulary recall in the form of online or print out games or worksheets. I love teaching very beginners from primary aged children to adults. I am a French native speaker. I am also a fully qualified teacher (I have a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages) and have taught French in Primary and Secondary schools for ten years. I hold a current Enhanced DBS Certificate. I started tutoring online in October 2021 and have since taught over 600 hours.
