A bit about Abdullah A

I have helped students improve their grades by over 2 levels in a matter of months. I have taught AQA and OCR A-Level/GCSE Biology and Chemistry and have experience teaching individuals from a wide range of backgrounds and can help the student gain a better understanding and engagement with the subjects . My passion for science goes further than just studying I regularly write scientific articles for various organisations such as BBC Futures. I work towards improving the grades of all my students but also making sure they build an interest in the subject. I first started tutoring 3 years ago to help others learn. I have gained much have experience tutoring Mathematics, English, Chemistry and Biology to students aged 6 to 15 at a Somali Community Centre in Broomhall, Sheffield. I have also tutored students for Mathematics and English at GCSE level at various schools and have improved their grades by up to two levels in a short amount of time. I have also tutored a student in his Biology A-Levels where through the tutoring he was able to enter the university and course he wanted to do. I have gained much experience through being a Study Leader in the sessions we organise in our course were I teach a group of students taking the same module as me. The first lesson will involve me trying to build a healthy teaching relationship with the student. I will test them on various aspects of the subject to gauge their level, ask them about what they think they struggle in and use this information to tailor the teaching for them. Then I will work on what they struggle on, slowly coaxing them towards the right techniques but never giving an answer until they have tried their hardest to work it out. This will ensure that they learn the information they need while also building effective learning habits. The lessons will involve me teaching them the topics they need to learn through an interactive process where they will be required to provide the answer. Furthermore, lessons will involve going through past paper questions they have answered beforehand so we can fill any gaps in their knowledge and improve their exam technique. I specialise in teaching students in Biology and Chemistry over a wide age range from 6-18. I particularly have a large amount of experience those in A-levels and GCSE. I have taught a diverse array of students and can easily build connections.
