A bit about Ju L

I am an experienced English teacher and Writing Specialist with 9 years of teaching in both a 1-1 and classroom setting. Over the last 4 years, hundreds of my students have seen vast improvements in their writing over a short span of time, and I have amassed numerous good reviews from parents and students alike (available upon request) for engaging lesson delivery. My students’ consistent good progress, as well as parents’ good feedback about my teaching were recognised by my school and I was promoted to the role of Teaching Quality Manager very quickly. While teaching remains my main job scope, my role also requires me to guide new teachers in helping their own students see good improvements in their writing. I also worked with experienced teachers to help them ensure that their lessons are of consistent high quality. In all, my role, good feedback, and experience in teaching assures that any student under my care will receive quality lessons that have been backed up by years of proven strategies leading to improved results. At present, my love for teaching has spurred me to take on a Masters in Applied Linguistics and English Language Teaching, which I am currently pursuing at King's College London. Students can be assured that my teaching is therefore relevant and up-to-date. My students absolutely love my engaging lesson delivery! I believe in the importance of interaction (and certainly not just a one-way, lecture-based style of teaching) so in my classes, you can expect a variety of different media (relevant videos and pictures) to help create memorable moments in class. I believe that students MUST enjoy the class and MUST have a good rapport with their teachers in order to do well and see progress, and that's what I'll always strive to be. I specialise in teaching English, with particular focus on creative writing. I've taught creative writing the past 4 years, and I believe that I can help students make improvements in this area very quickly! I've been mostly teaching between the ages of 7-16, so I'm very familiar with their needs and standards. I'm very familiar with the GCSE syllabus! I specialise in teaching all types of writing between the ages of 7-16.
