A bit about Fauzia A

Experience at teaching AQA GCSE Psychology (Year 10 and 11), AQA A Level Psychology, Edexcel A level Psychology, Eduqas A Level Psychology. Examiner for Pearson Examining board Experience as a module leader for undergraduate Psychology A level Psychology: A BSc (HONS) Psychology: First Class MSc Organisational Psychology PGCE: Outstanding Training in Prevent, safeguarding, child protection, British values, equality and mental health first aid. Specialist in teaching GCSE and A Level psychology to students that are able to students that have learning needs/disabilities. Lessons are pre-planned beforehand, making use of academic resources, syllabus and the curriculum. Lessons are adapted to suit learner understanding at the time and to ensure they understand the content and the skills needed to apply this content in exam questions. Teaching style is tailored towards their needs and at their own pace. Students feel they can seek support with the subject of Psychology aswell as employability and academic skills needed to progress. My favourite thing about tutoring is when students have grasped the lesson content and can apply their knowledge in different settings, as this demonstrates their full in depth understanding. I also enjoy building and developing rapport with students and using their interests to help them understand lesson content. Outside of teaching, my time is spent raising my two children and six rabbits! The subject of Psychology has become increasingly popular over the years and is continuing to appeal to many students. I wanted to utilise my knowledge and experience in a positive - teaching seemed the ideal way for me to harness and contribute positively to the growth of Psychology as a subject. I first started teaching in 2018 and have had many Psychology teaching roles since. I love how students are always eager to put forward their own views and tend to be able to relate the topics to their own real life situations. It is also enlightening when students have differing viewpoints and become accustomed to considering different ways of seeing the world. Teaching is not the same for every student. You can make a lesson and develop your resources. However the effective teacher will be able to tailor resources for the needs of each individual student. The greatest successes I have had is when I am able to sustain student enthusiasm in Psychology, whereby students are considering studying Psychology further and will ask for me ways they can progress in this subject (e.g. work experience, employment and further study) Using resources and platforms that enable me to provide an optimal learning environment. I aim to use a variety of modalities in my teaching, such as videos, images, podcasts, research, publications and other academic sources. Students are supported with locating their own research to support their own learning. My role is to provide them with the skills needed to be independent learners and guide them towards this process. I have been studying Psychology since 2002 and teaching Psychology since 2018. Over the years I have built up extensive knowledge in approaches, debates, theories and psychological skills needed to progress in this subject area. Psychological skills I aim to embed include the following: analytic skills, critical thinking skills, research skills, application skills and evaluation skills. Some of the topics I have taught include: Brain and Behaviour, Social Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Psychological Problems and Research Methods. This is not a complete list, so please contact me if you need tutoring in a specific area.
