Tell us a bit about yourself.

I am a young, professional and passionate English, Spanish and Italian languages and literature teacher dedicated to individual student growth and adept at detailed monitoring of class progress. I specialise in GCSE/A-Level teaching of English, Italian and Spanish languages and literature and in Teaching English as a Foreign language, which I have done for 4 years now. I enjoy creating innovative lesson plans to enhance every step of students' learning journey, as well as I am well-versed in motivating them to meet learning objectives. I have a Bachelor's degree in Languages, Civilisations and the Sciences of Language and a Master's in English. I also acquired a TEFL 120h certificate and am qualified to teach in nursery, primary and secondary school.

How do your lessons usually plan out?

First, I identify students' needs and learning objectives. I plan specific learning activities accordingly, and plan to assess students' understanding sequencing the lesson in an engaging and meaningful manner. I also plan for lesson closure, to make sure students have progressed. In short, I make sure lessons provide you with a general outline of your teaching goals, learning objectives, and means to accomplish them.

When did you first start tutoring?

I first started tutoring in Greece, Thessaloniki at an English summer camp. That was my first experience teaching, after which I went on to teach Italian in Australia, Perth, at a public senior high school. I also taught Portuguese after school classes in Italy, Venice. After graduating, I taught English for 2 years at a language academy in Venice. Last summer, I taught English online for an academy based in Kuwait. I am now teaching many students online around the world.

What do you love most about teaching your subject?

The greatest pleasure I derive from teaching English, Italian and Spanish languages and literature is seeing the way in which students not only meet their specific learning objectives, but also the way in which they develop as people.

What is your teaching style?

My teaching style is designed to create engagement, which is an essential part of learning. The types of teaching styles I adopt will depend on your course goals, course material and learning objectives. I am an educator who experiments with multiple teaching styles. I consider their strengths, and develop an approach that both me and my students are comfortable with and that can maximize student engagement and learning.

What is your teaching philosophy?

I believe that a classroom should be a safe, caring caring where students are free to speak their mind and blossom and grow. I will use strategies to ensure our classroom space will flourish and benefit students in their learning.

Which relevant qualifications do you have?

I have a Bachelor's degree in Languages, Civilisations and the Sciences of Language and a Master's in English. I also acquired a TEFL 120h certificate and am qualified to teach in nursery, primary and secondary school.

What are your interests outside of teaching?

Outside of being passionate about teaching, I am a voracious reader and I love writing. I enjoy the arts in general and visiting new places, getting to know new cultures.
