A bit about Henry R

Football coach at university, avid reader and currently training as a detective with the Thames Valley Police. I worked as a mentor with the NCS, and have volunteered abroad teaching in Poland and Cambodia so have plenty of experience in mentoring/teaching roles! Geography, History and English Lang/Lit are my subjects of choice, which I thoroughly enjoyed in school and in which I achieved an A or higher. I am genuinely interested and passionate about these subjects, and hope to make my tutees feel the same way! I want to help tutees actually engage with the subject matter in a way that interests them. My specialist subjects are genuinely interesting, and I am confident in ensuring they can be enjoyed, which is the most important thing! Additionally, I am fully aware of what is required in AQA/Edexcel/OCR exams and can pass on relevant exam techniques as well. Fundamentally I believe if a student enjoys a subject, they can't do badly in it! I still have great memories of the teachers at my school who were visibly passionate about their subjects. It is infectious, and as a result I loved learning my specialist subjects and achieved top grades in them. Learning is simply something to be enjoyed rather than seen as a challenge, and it is this perspective that motivates me to share my knowledge with students to get them engaged!
