A bit about Jeremy

My name is Jeremy Lucas. Whatever you want to achieve in learning English I will do my best to help. If you want to learn about the English language and culture or you want to improve your professional communication I can give you the opportunity to do so. Most importantly, I can support your linguistic needs whatever they may be. I will help you build on your skills and confidence in using the English language. I have been teaching English for 35 years and online for 20 years. I offer a combination of teaching focussed around English language training. This includes both first and second language training. For first language this is UK curriculum based learning for key stage 3 and 4 up to GCSE level, both language and literature. For second language I teach adult and professional courses which include specialist courses for professional areas such as medical and pharmaceutical, legal and project management. I specialise in pronunciation, meaning and context of the language especially grammatical and structural forms. I also offer a wide range of recognised examination preparation. The focus of each lesson is on you, the student. Lessons are about you, so I will follow a program that meets your needs. During each lesson I ensure that we have objectives to meet, and by the end of that lesson we will have met those objectives. I will set homework and the expectation is that this is completed before the next lesson so we can review it at the start of each lesson. My name is Jeremy Lucas and I have been teaching English for over 35 years and online for 20 years. I have developed and implemented successful online teaching systems for English, both first and second language over the last 20 years. I have taught both one to one and small groups. I have used many different platforms for teaching and I am happy to accommodate your requirements. The part that I love most about teaching is the fact that I am able to provide guidance to others in their development and understanding of the English language and culture. It is a privilege to be able to share that with others. In terms of my teaching style, I see myself as a reactive teacher who can respond to whatever the demands of the lesson require. What I mean by that is that during a lesson, if there are evident needs that you have or if you would like to investigate a specific area of the language that we are covering, then we can do so. The lessons are for you. Everyone can learn something new every day including me. I struggled at school and didn't get it. This helps me to understand why others may find difficulty learning and I am privileged to be able to help.
