A bit about Humza H

I first began tutoring over three years ago! Ever since then, I have tutored various age groups from students in KS3 all the way up to GCSE. It has been a massive learning experience in itself, which has taught me the importance in patience, understanding, and the worth of putting in the extra effort to devise specific schemes of work to match a particular student's needs. Outside of teaching, I love being active and getting out there. This year I have been more dedicated to hitting the gym consistently, as well as playing sports like football and cricket. Outside of being active, I enjoy reading, especially fiction novels and anything revolving around history like the book, "Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind". I have 10 GCSEs (9-5), and three A-Levels in Maths, Chemistry and Computer Science. Currently, I'm a second year Computer Science student, for my first year, I managed to achieve a first with an overall grade of 80%. My GCSE grades for subjects I am interested in teaching are: Religious Education: 9; History: 8; English Language - 7; Mathematics - 7; Biology - 7; Chemistry - 7: Computer Science - 7. Hi there! I am a second year Computer Science student, with a passion for teaching and helping students realise their true potential. I have tutored for over three years now, teaching a wide variety of subjects and age groups. One of the things that I am most proud of is seeing how much my students blossom and thrive under my tutelage; how much they improve academically but also mentally as they really begin to enjoy and appreciate the content that they are learning! My lessons depend on the student's wants and needs. I like to identify where I can improve with the student and assess the best course of action for growth. Usually, at the beginning of the lesson I would like to have a catch-up session, where the student and I talk about how they're getting on, see if there are any challenges that they are currently facing. During the lesson, we will tackle these challenges and towards the end of the lesson, I would like to review the session and ensure that the student feels more secure in the knowledge of the topic covered and that their challenges have been conquered. How flexible and engaging it is. I teach depending on the student's needs, what the student needs help with has great influence on how and what I am teaching. I ensure that the student remains as engaged as possible to keep their attention on the work at hand. I ensure that the student is actively participating in the lesson, focussing more on the student having something to do whether it's answering problems or asking me questions on topics they would like me to explain, rather than having the student sat there, zoning out and not taking in anything.
