A bit about Callum B

I am an applied mathematician pursing a PhD in Solar Physics. When it comes to teaching I'm not just looking to get you ready for exams, I want you to fully understand the subject you're studying. I have over 6 years' experience tutoring students right the way through to upper divisional university classes in mathematics, physics and engineering. It is that depth of experience I draw on to deliver quality lessons to my tutees. My philosophy in the classroom is simple: you should feel at home and free to ask questions. The ability to be inquisitive is key to learning any subject, more so than any innate talent, and it is that characteristic that we should look to foster. I want to show that being stuck and finding things difficult is actually a good thing - it means we're learning! There's nothing better than being stuck on a difficult problem before having that 'Eureka!' moment and finally realising the solution. Please get in touch if you would like to learn from me. I am happy to provide lessons at all levels from GCSE right the way through to university. I am available locally or remotely via webcam. I first started tutoring back in 2016, I now have nearly 6 years of experience delivering maths and physics lessons to students from GCSE right through to undergraduate level. My experience as a postgraduate researcher also means I have a huge depth of knowledge: I take techniques from mathematics and apply to them to real physical world problems. I have the same approach to teaching, we want to apply our knowledge to concrete problems so that we learn the importance of our subject.
