A bit about Neeta

I teach Edexcel mainly and Mark the external candidate exam papers every year. I am able to help you use the mark scheme to achieve the highest possible mark. I also teach AQA and OCR syllabus and use knowledge to help students to the best of their ability I am a qualified maths teacher, having taught in various schools from private, faith, academies to SEN schools. I have specialist knowledge in autism and the care sectors as well as security industries. I am professional, friendly, approachable, firm and fair. I am able to teach in a person centred approach. I will initially find gaps in knowledge through testing and questioning as well as observing and plan lessons according to ability, using teaching methods such as practical learning through games and tarsias applicable to real life scenarios. I also use certain apps to aid learning and at least one past exam question is a must in each lesson to recap learning. My lessons start with a topic teaser or quiz in a fun way. This enables me to identify gaps in knowledge and misconceptions that I can help students to correct. I then plan out what needs to be covered in lesson ending with a recap question to cover all that was learnt in lesson. Each lesson is different in the sense that it has practical element as well as theory element at times leading to deeper learning through investigations on a particular topic. I hold a degree in mathematics with statistics grade 2:1 and a PGCE in mathematics. In addition I have qualification in examiner roles in mathematics. I started tutoring in 2005 and since been tutoring. Have seen a lot of changes in curriculum and syllabus since as well as delivery of lessons and teaching styles from blackboard and chalk to using technology There are various things I could say about being a tutor some of which are flexibility to teach and deliver the lesson. I enjoy teaching 1 to 1 as I feel I can cover more material, identify strengths and weaknesses and give feedback immediately. I tend to see students learn and grow quicker this way which gives me great satisfaction. The results shown speak for themselves
