A bit about Cora O

I am a Chinese national who has come to the UK to complete my postgraduate studies. Although I did not major in education, I have worked as a tutor during my undergraduate studies and have tutored ten students, so I am experienced in teaching. My philosophy is "learning together, teaching for learning". I listen to the needs of the students and develop a suitable learning plan according to their shortcomings. I have the enthusiasm and patience to work with each student. My first tutoring job was during my sophomore year of university, when I found a care provider to earn a living, taking care of after-school homework for primary school students aged 8-14. Later in my third year of university, I contacted a professional tutoring agency and worked part-time every weekend as a tutor in two homes, tutoring primary school children with their homework, mainly in English and Maths. I continued teaching until I finished my undergraduate degree. My teaching style is a mixture of leniency and strictness. This is because I believe that only when the relationship with the students is like a friend, the students can learn in a more relaxed and natural state, thus contributing to more effective learning. However, for some naughty students, it is also important to take stern measures as appropriate to establish the authority of the teacher. In short, it is important to have sufficient teacher authority but to remain gentle and loving.
