Hi I'm Hannah! I have a Medicine Degree and SEN school experience.
You can book a free 20 minute, no-commitment introduction with any of our tutors. How does this work?
I finished school in 2012 and went straight to University to study Medicine. I was there for six years, graduated in 2018 and then worked as a Foundation Doctor in the NHS. I am confident tutoring in Science based subjects, University preparation and Medical School preparation. More recently I have been working in an SEN school with pupils of a range of ages and abilities. Most of my experience lies with Primary School aged pupils, and I have expertise working with pupils with diagnoses of ASD, ADHD and Global Developmental Delay. I have acquired a wide range of skills and techniques I to support pupils with any aspect of their learning.
I left school in 2012 with 13 GCSE's all A*-A and 6 A Levels, again all A*-A grades. These were in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology, Mathematics, Spanish and General Studies. I then went on to study Medicine for 6 years and graduated in 2018. I have many career-based qualifications in areas such as Special Educational Needs, ASD, safeguarding, effective learning and wellbeing in the classroom through my recent work as a Special Needs Teaching Assistant.
My philosophy in life is; no mountain is ever too great to climb. I dreamed of being a Doctor from the age of about 12 or 13, yet never believed it could happen. However I broke it down, took it step by step with the support of my school and I did it! Standing on stage in 2018 as I graduated was a moment I genuinely never believed would happen. I know we all have different backgrounds and struggles, but if you have a realistic goal you just need to believe that you CAN do it, break it into small steps so you feel you're making progress, and most importantly have support alongside you. I would hope to be that support to help young people reach their academic goals.
I specialise in both Science and Medicine based subjects and working with pupils with Special Educational Needs. I have a Medicine Degree so am confident in tutoring in the Sciences and Maths, University preparation and Medical School examinations. I am also semi-fluent in speaking Spanish and can work with you up to A-Level standard. I also specialise in working with pupils with SEN, mainly in the primary age group as am familiar with the curriculum at this level. I worked in an SEN school for over two years so have a lot of knowledge and skills which I can use.
I love to read and write, I am currently into reading autobiographies and am starting to write my own books and some poetry. I also love to dance and attend classes three or four times a week. I like learning and practising Spanish and attend online classes for this every week as well, one day I hope to be fully fluent! I love spending weekends with friends and family; eating, spending time outdoors and visiting new places.
I am enthusiastic and passionate about making learning FUN! I am still relatively young so I remember very clearly what it is like to be a student which I think makes me relatable and approachable for young people too. If something isn't working or clicking into place for you, I will think of new, creative ways to make it easier to understand!
