A bit about Stephanie H

I am a fully qualified Secondary English Literature and Language teacher. I also teach Cambridge International English Language AS & A Level and Psychology for GCSE, A-Level and Undergraduate level. I have an MSc Psychology degree, QTS certificate, PGCE degree for Secondary English Teacher (Distinction) and a BA (Hons) English & American Literature (1st) degree. I teach all UK exam boards i.e., AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge International. I have excellent subject knowledge, varying my authors and texts from Shakespeare, An Inspector Calls, Blood Brothers, Frankenstein, A Christmas Carol to the Poetry Anthology and so on. I teach all UK exam boards. I teach Key Stages 2 - 5 (7-18years old) - this includes GCSE, A Level and University entrance application preparation i.e., personal statements, exams etc. I have taught the following exam boards: AQA, OCR, Edexcel and Cambridge International. I provide diverse and engaging lessons that ensure students are able to thrive in both academic and vocational learning to achieve above and beyond their highest potential whilst developing personal and employability skills. I have excellent subject knowledge and employ effective targets reviewing learning through formative and summative assessments. This is useful to identify areas for development and apply effective interventions. I am patient, enthusiastic and empower my students to have personal autonomy over their learning in order to enable them to actively approach their learning and boost their confidence in the subject. To make it varied, my lessons are cross-curricular - this means that they introduce elements from other subjects i.e., history, psychology, art, philosophy and so on. English has the flexibility to include multiple topics so students who may enjoy different subject can access the texts through their passions. It also has the added bonus of strengthening knowledge in these other subjects. I'm a patient teacher and keep my lessons fun and interesting. I have been teaching/tutoring for over 7 years. I have taught in Secondary schools as well as online via different software platforms e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, etc.
