A bit about Daisy W

I have 4+ years' online teaching experience. My specialties include teaching English grammar and vocabulary from A1 (beginner) level up to C1 (advanced) level. I also specialise in helping students improve their pronunciation and become more confident English speakers. My favourite thing about teaching English as a foreign language is the range of topics we get to discuss: everything from current affairs to history, science, animals, technology and much more. Also, I am a rare kind of person who actually likes grammar! My lessons usually begin with a warm-up to introduce the topic and help students feel comfortable. Students have the opportunity to demonstrate what they already know, before new vocabulary and concepts are introduced. I use multiple resources such as worksheets, pictures, games and written texts to keep lessons varied and interesting. I try to maximise the time that students spend speaking English. Treat students as individuals; strive to understand what students want and need; help every student to achieve their best. I have travelled to several different continents. I speak French quite fluently, I know German very well, and I have a basic level of Mandarin Chinese. The things I enjoy most are studying languages, reading non-fiction, learning new things, and walking my dog. I completed a 168-hour TEFL training course and achieved a Distinction. My bachelor's degree was in an education-related field. Additionally, I have a certificate in teaching phonics.
