A bit about Cheryl

Qualified teacher with14 years experience teaching and marking AQA GCSE Science and A-Level Biology. Wide range of resources to assist teaching and learning of all students. As an A level biology exam marker I specialise in exam technique as well as teaching exam board content. My rates for tutoring are £40/hr for GCSE sciences and £45/hr for A level biology. I have written and taught a number of schemes of work for GCSE Science and A-Level Biology courses. This has given me an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the requirements for these qualifications. I have extensive experience in marking exam questions and am able to help you hit all the right points on the mark scheme. I have always planned and delivered lessons that are interactive and fun, with a view to making the content relevant and engaging for pupils of all abilities. My lessons have clear objectives and I plan opportunities for assessment throughout in order to measure the progress being made. With understanding comes enjoyment and one of the best things for me as a tutor is seeing students progress and increase in confidence in a subject that many find challenging. Too many students say ‘I can’t do science’ but with the right support they quickly realise that they can! It truly is a joy to see their love of science grow. I specialise in teaching AQA exam board for GCSE sciences and A level biology. I also have experience teaching Edexcel A level biology, both Syllabus A and B as well as Scottish Higher Human Biology.
