A bit about Dan B

Three years ago I worked at a summer school in Cambridge shortly after graduating, teaching English to students with English as a second language. After this, I realised how much I enjoyed teaching and quickly set about becoming a tutor! Since then, I've had over 3,000 hours of experience combined in online and in-person tuition. I specialise in 11+ and 13+ preparation for top independent girls and boys schools at ages 7, 11 and 13. I primarily teach Religious Studies, English, History and Philosophy from the primary years to A-Level and UCAS applications. I also have extensive experience working with students for whom English is a second language, helping them prepare for common entrance examinations whilst also improving their grasp of the English Language. Whether it be working toward a common entrance exam, improving general study skills, or exploring beyond the curriculum with motivated students - I have the experience and enthusiasm to help. After studying at Magdalen College School, Oxford, I graduated from St John’s College of Cambridge University having been awarded the prestigious Sheikh Zayed prize for distinction in Islamic Studies. Since graduating, I have worked as a professional tutor for three years, accumulating over three thousand hours of experience teaching a wide range of subjects. I love sports - having played rugby semi-professionally - acting, and writing. My teaching philosophy is centred around the practice of being a great listener to my students. I recognise that each student is unique, as such requiring a specific plan to help them achieve their goals. I believe that with the right plan and effort, every student can achieve their goals - and I'm here to help them do that.
