A bit about Emma F

From being really young, I was the friend who helped people when they were stuck with their homework, preparing for exams or worried about learning or their ability. I love helping people, especially young children, to feel confident and calm about their abilities. I am a qualified Primary teacher with a degree in Maths and a passion for teaching English. I like to have fun, talk about the process of learning and build on a child's prior knowledge. By doing this, we do many shorter tasks so that the child always feels successful and stays calm and positive towards their learning while quickly building on what they know to ensure consistent and rapid progress. All while solving issues that may have arisen, building a good relationship and improving in confidence. I am a UK trained Primary School teacher with QTS and a degree in Mathematics from Leeds University. I have taught for 22 years in schools in the UK and Egypt and have worked with all primary age year groups. I am a life long learner and so have also completed a range of courses including phonics, special needs and learning styles and strategies.
