A bit about Jane B

I am primarily a Science teacher, KS3 and KS4, of biology, chemistry and physics. I started my teaching profession as a Maths teacher before moving across. I specialise in working with children with special educational needs, from dyslexia to ASD, and across the spectrum of other learning difficulties. I like to start by revising what came before, to consolidate understanding before moving on. I like to include a range of activities, including safe practical work at home. I encourage students to think for themselves, and I like to look for ways to make learning stimulating, enjoyable and memorable. I started tutoring 1:1 in schools in 1995. I have always tutored since this time, throughout my whole teaching profession. I have also taught within the home, as well as online, in the classroom, outside, in libraries. I have had a great deal of experience in personalising lessons in terms of learning styles and interest and ability.
