A bit about Kristina H

I am a qualified primary teacher with experience in KS1 & KS2, both in schools and 1-2-1 tutoring. I am also a children's counsellor and have experience supporting children and young people with their mental health and wellbeing, as well as their education and learning. SEN children - Social, Emotional & Mental Heath English: reading, writing, spellings - learning creatively All maths Support with home learning tasks Online platforms/ interactive/ games We start our work with some fun and interactive brain warm up activities to engage and motivate for learning, creating a positive environment for learning together! I will then provide around 35-40 mins of targeted support, building up the child's confidence & self esteem, setting goals, broadening knowledge and honing in on key skills in a fun and creative way! Finally, the last part of the session is a space to pull together all the strands of learning, checking we met our targets and are feeling good about ourselves and our learning. I can also set home learning tasks and plan ahead for our next session. Closing with a feelings check in - thumbs up or smiley faces are invited! I started in 2014 when I had my first child and Ive been tutoring on and off since then. Its not my main job, I work mainly with children as a counsellor and mentor, but I love to keep my tutoring work too as I enjoy seeing children learn and grow and develop in self confidence, at school and at home.
